Maia vs. Masvidal set for UFC 211

A bout pitting two of the top welterweights in the world against each other is heading to American Airlines Center in Dallas on May 13, as No. 3-ranked Demian Maia puts his six-fight winning streak on the line against surging No. 6-ranked veteran Jorge Masvidal.

In the UFC 211 main event, heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic defends his crown against Junior Dos Santos, and in the co-main event, Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her strawweight title against Jessica Andrade.

A former world title challenger at middleweight, Brazil’s Demian Maia found his true home at 170 pounds, where his current win streak has seen him defeat the likes of Neil Magny, Gunnar Nelson, Matt Brown and Carlos Condit. In May, he will look to extend his run of excellence against Florida’s Masvidal, a seasoned competitor who has hit his stride with three straight wins over Ross Pearson, Jake Ellenberger and Donald Cerrone.
