Weidman vs. Belfort Set For UFC 184 in Los Angeles

Dana White confirmed via Instagram on Wednesday that UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will defend his title against No. 1 contender Vitor Belfort in Los Angeles on Feb. 28 at UFC 184.

Belfort announced the fight on his Instagram earlier in the day, and White responded with a social media confirmation hours later.
Joining Weidman and Belfort in LA will be Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano, who will also headline the card when they battle for the UFC women’s bantamweight title in the co-main event.

Zingano made her Octagon return at UFC 178 with an impressive TKO win against Amanda Nunes. Rousey and Zingano were set to meet back in 2013, but Zingano suffered a knee injury that put her on the shelf for a year.
Rousey, the only women’s bantamweight champ in company history, has successfully defended her title four times inside the Octagon.
Weidman has been just as dominant in his division, holding a pair of wins over UFC legend Anderson Silva and he was victorious against Lyoto Machida at UFC 175 in a five-round war. Belfort has won three in a row, but hasn’t fought since November 2013 – a KO win over Dan Henderson.
