UFC Announces Debut Event in Prague

The Octagon will debut in Prague, Czech Republic on February 23

London, UK – Today, UFC confirmed it will host its first ever event in the Czech Republic on Saturday, February 23, at the O2 arena in Prague. This will be UFC’s first event in Europe in 2019 as the organisation continues to expand across the world and introduce the sport of MMA to new audiences.

Fans are advised to register their interest at ufc.com/prague to secure their tickets early for what will be a thrilling night of action. Tickets will go on general sale via Ticketportal on Friday, December 7.

The UFC’s popularity in the Czech Republic has grown enormously over recent years. The country is also home to one of UFC’s biggest female stars Lucie Pudilova, who recently narrowly lost a split decision against Irene Aldana. The epic battle between these two athletes was rewarded the Fight of the Night bonus at UFC 228: WOODLEY vs. TILL.

UFC Senior Vice President, International and Content, David Shaw said “The Czech Republic has long been on our radar as UFC continues to expand across Europe. We are incredibly excited to finally be able to bring our first live event to our passionate Czech fans. We are looking forward to building the UFC brand and further growing the sport of MMA in the country. It’s going to be a great night!”
